1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PrayWell ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

PrayWell is operated by Kevin MacDonald ("we", "us", "our"). These terms constitute a legal agreement between you and us.

2. What PrayWell Is

PrayWell is a prayer companion app that helps you find words when prayer feels difficult. The App uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized prayers based on what you share.

PrayWell is:

• A tool to help articulate your thoughts and feelings in prayer
• A companion for moments when words feel hard to find
• A private space for reflection

3. What PrayWell Is Not

PrayWell is not a substitute for:

• Professional mental health care — If you're experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a mental health professional or crisis service.
• Medical advice — The App does not provide medical diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or health advice.
• Spiritual authority — PrayWell doesn't claim to speak for God or any religious tradition. The prayers are tools for your own reflection, not divine pronouncements.
• Human connection — While we hope PrayWell helps in quiet moments, it's not a replacement for community, counseling, or relationships.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Trial

New users receive one free prayer to experience the App. This does not require payment information.

Subscription

Continued access requires a subscription, available as monthly or annual plans. Subscriptions include:

• Unlimited prayer generation
• Tone adjustments
• All current and future features

Billing

• Payments are processed through Apple's App Store
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings
• No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices. Any price changes will apply to the next billing period after notice is provided.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PrayWell respectfully and lawfully. You may not:

• Use the App to generate harmful, hateful, or illegal content
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security measures
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
• Use automated systems to access the App
• Share your subscription access with others
• Use the App in any way that could harm others or the service

6. Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of what you write in the App. By using PrayWell, you grant us a limited license to process your input for the purpose of generating prayers.

Generated Prayers

Prayers generated by PrayWell are created for your personal use. You may save, share, or use them as you wish. We don't claim ownership of prayers generated for you.

Our Content

The App, its design, features, and branding are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

7. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your information. The short version: your prayers stay private.

8. Crisis Situations

If PrayWell detects language suggesting you may be in crisis, we'll pause and show you crisis resources. This is a safety feature, not a diagnostic tool.

9. Disclaimers

PrayWell is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will always be available or error-free
• Generated prayers will meet your expectations
• The App will work on all devices

We're not responsible for how you interpret or use the prayers generated by the App.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of PrayWell. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding any claim.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and may notify you through the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Termination

You can stop using PrayWell at any time by deleting the App and cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
